Find Hansford Court Dates

Start with the court named on your notice. A Hansford County court schedule is split across several offices, since district, county, justice, and municipal matters sit with different clerks. Pull that court's current calendar, then line it up against the case docket itself. Statewide hearing data covers some public cases, but a call to the clerk still matters when an online search comes up empty. One caution: a setting only marks a scheduled event. It does not promise the case will be heard, because dates can change later.

How the Hansford Court Calendar Works

One office keeps the main district calendar. That is the 84th Judicial District Court calendar and hearing page. The 84th serves three counties: Hansford, Hutchinson, and Ochiltree. Its central office sits in Stinnett. Hansford hearings and clerk contacts, though, run through Spearman. So check both the county of hearing and the court named on the case. A district date does not automatically belong on every Hansford County court docket.

The calendar page also carries a request form. Under the local rules, contested and uncontested matters, jury and nonjury alike, get set when counsel or a party requests a time, in the order the Court Administrator receives the request. Requests must go through the court website and state an estimated length. The party must copy opposing counsel and the district clerk, and include a certificate of conference when opposing counsel is known.

Hansford Calendar and Request Form

The official 84th Court page puts the calendar right beside the setting-request workflow. Its form shows how the court identifies an event. It posts no processing deadline. And it does not promise any requested time will be approved.

The form ties calendar review to the request fields, which underlines a key point: a request and a confirmed setting are two different records. Until the court sends notice, nothing is set.

Hansford County Court Date Lookups

Use every channel you can when the date truly matters. Hansford publishes no public daily calendar archive, printed daily list, text reminder program, or downloadable calendar export. An old screen capture proves nothing about next week.

  1. Read the citation, notice, or filing and identify the court level.
  2. Check the 84th Court calendar for a district setting, or the relevant JP or municipal source for a lower-court matter.
  3. Search the Hearings tab in re:SearchTX when the public case is available there.
  4. Call the correct clerk or court and ask whether the date remains set.
  5. Visit or write to the custodian when the online record is absent or unclear.

Phone numbers differ by office, so call the right one. For district settings, the 84th Court lists 806-659-4160 for Spearman. Its central Stinnett office uses 806-878-4022. The combined Hansford clerk pages list 806-659-4110, while the 84th Court gives 806-659-4111. Countywide Justice of the Peace: 806-659-4165. Name your case and court when you call.

Hansford and Stinnett Roles

The 84th Court overview maps its three-county reach and lists staff contacts. Hansford County belongs to that district, but the central office is not there.

That overview explains a quirk of local practice: a Hansford setting may involve a Spearman clerk contact and a Stinnett administrator. Do not assume either location from the district name alone.

Court Settings: What Each Field Means

A court setting marks the scheduled place in the case timeline. Read the fields together. A date alone, without the court, the event type, and current status, can send you to the wrong office or breed a false idea of what will happen.

DateThe day currently assigned, subject to later court action.
TimeThe stated start or report time, which may differ by event.
Court or countyThe court and hearing location responsible for the event.
JudgeThe judicial officer assigned, when the notice provides one.
Setting typeThe kind of event, such as hearing, trial, or jury-panel report.

The 84th Court home page says jury panels report Mondays at 9:00 a.m. That instruction covers jury panels only. It does not mean every Hansford County hearing falls then. Always read the exact notice for your case.

Hansford Setting Terms in Plain English

The local rules use several terms for movement on a court schedule. Not all of them mean a case has ended.

Setting
A hearing, trial, or event placed on the court calendar.
Continuance
A court-approved move to a later date.
Reset
A replacement date after an earlier setting changes.
Inactive docket
A status for qualifying older untried cases under the 84th Court rules, with possible later dismissal proceedings.
Disposition
The recorded outcome or resolution, which is different from a calendar change.

A setting request is not a court order. It can be moved, rejected, or reset. Get confirmation from the current docket, the clerk, the court administrator, or counsel of record.

When a Hansford Court Date Moves

The 84th local-rules page describes setting requests but posts no Hansford reset-code dictionary. A changed entry may be labeled a reset or a continuance. Neither word, alone, means dismissal. Check the newer entry and any order explaining the change.

The rules add a wrinkle. Certain family actions and liquidated monetary claims on file more than 12 months without trial, plus other civil actions on file more than 18 months without trial, are subject to inactive-docket placement and possible dismissal for lack of prosecution under Rule 165. "Subject to" is doing real work there. Dismissal is not automatic.

Use the newest source. Confirm a changed date with the court coordinator, clerk, or attorney of record rather than relying on a saved calendar image.

Calendar Versus Hansford Case Docket

The calendar answers when an event is expected. The docket records the running history: filings, motions, orders, settings, and disposition. A calendar item may be one short line. The docket explains why the event exists and whether a later entry changed it.

Hansford County docket search options can link a hearing to its case history. One caution on the statewide layer. re:SearchTX is not complete for every court or record. Official Texas Judicial Council material says criminal case records are excluded from its public document collection. For the official local record, the clerk remains the source.

Registered Hansford Hearing Access

The official registered-access explanation covers re:SearchTX account access and confidential-case errors. It offers useful context for statewide searches, not a Hansford-specific calendar guarantee.

A sign-in barrier, a restricted-case message, or a blank result may reflect access rules rather than the absence of a hearing. Check any statewide result against the court that owns the case.

Missed Hansford Settings and Next Steps

Missed a Hansford County court date? Act fast. A new date will not simply appear online, so do not wait for the docket to update itself. Call the court named on the notice, read the cause or citation number exactly as printed, and ask what the docket now shows. Matters in the 84th District Court belong to that court and the Hansford District Clerk. County Court issues go through the county-clerk function. JP and municipal cases stay with those courts.

A missed setting can have serious case consequences. Only the court can state the current status, any new date, and what action is required.

Walking over in person? The clerk pages list 15 Northwest Court, while the county locator gives 16 Northwest Court in Spearman. Hours are not posted, so call before you go. Confirm the entrance, the counter, and a good time to appear. A written docket request should name the court, the case, the event, and what response you want. Hansford posts no universal mail form for calendar requests.
